Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Francis Joseph Corbin on August 28, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Frank was born in Saint John, NB, on February 24, 1942, to the late Mary Corbin and was the loving husband of 52 years to his wife, Ruth (Beattie) Corbin.
Frank worked as an insurance salesman for many years but his true passion was for music. Frank was very gifted musically and played in many groups over the years- The Rhythmaires, the Soul Fingers, Frank Corbin and the Group, Dr. Do and the Don’ts as well as his many solo and duo performances. He was a natural when it came to talking to people and interacting. Frank could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his wife, Ruth, he is survived by children, LeeAnna (Rod) Carson and Carrie Taylor; his adored grandchildren, Ben and Maggie Carson; brother Bob Laskey and sister Madeline Parlee; along with several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Frank’s family wish to take this time to send a heartfelt note of gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital who cared for Frank so well during his time there. The last of his living days were made better for us and him because of the care and compassion shown to him there. Also, we couldn’t be more grateful for the Ambulance Service and Rothesay Regional Police who assisted on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Words could never express how much we appreciated all that you did for us and we just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Frank’s wishes, no services will be held. For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to the JDRF or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
