Evelyn Street (nee Tilley)
February 9, 1944 – January 27, 2021. Age 76 years
It is with great sadness that we the family of Evelyn Street(nee Tilley) announce her passing on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at the Health Science Centre after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Street, parents Samuel & Eunice Tilley, Father & Mother In Laws Jack & Myrtle Street, Uncle William Tilley, Brother Warren Tilley, Sister Minnie Street, and nephew Joshua Tilley.
Leaving to mourn are her two daughters Connie (Dennis) and Peggy (Rex), Granddaughter Kendra (Thomas), sister Yvonne Dalton, Brothers Albert Tilley (Harriet), Alvin Tilley (Margaret), & Hansel Tilley (Debbie), Brother-in-law Alfred Street, Sisters-in-law Annie Fleming (Wilson), Millicent Dyke (Clayton), Sarah Street & Helena Tilley & a large circle of nieces & nephews, cousins & friends especially her life long friend Betty Lou Abbott.
Evelyn enjoyed the simple things in life. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her three girls, they were her whole world. She loved to watch her daily soap operas and to go out for supper at different restaurants. She loved to cook and anyone who came to visit didn’t leave hungry. She enjoyed to hang clothes on the line and having her daily chats with her next door neighbour, Gordon Tobin. What kept her going was her on going calls to her family to make sure everyone was okay and especially she enjoyed her chats with her life long friend Betty Lou Abbott.
Evelyn had a brief illness (Leukaemia) that was diagnosed on December 7, 2020, she was then admitted in hospital where she passed away peacefully. She fought the fight with determination and strength right to the end. Her faith in God throughout the years never wavered.
Evelyn was blessed with a large circle of family & friends that loved her and whom she dearly loved. Those who knew her are left with fond and loving memories of her thoughtfulness and kindness towards others.
