Obituary of Ellen Cantwell
Ellen was born on June 3, 1937 in Curling, Corner Brook Newfoundland and passed away peacefully at Mill Care Centre, Barrie Ontario on March 7, 2020 in her 83rd. year, with family by her side. Ellen leaves to mourn her sisters: Marie Dicks (Vincent), Sandra Cantwell, Ursula Anstey (David), Sylvia Hiscock (Lindy), Elizabeth Cantwell (Bruce), and brothers: Kevin (Brenda) and Reginald (Nora), sister-in-law Deborah Cantwell, her Aunt Myrtle McCarthy, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents Angela and Joseph Cantwell Sr. and seven siblings (her brother Joseph passed away on April 14, 2021 in Ontario in his 68th. year).
The Funeral service for Ellen will be held on Monday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m. from The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer on Mount Bernard Avenue in Corner Brook NL with interment to follow at the Mount Patricia Cemetery in Wildcove NL, Father Lee Lainey officiating.
Family & friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home at 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday September 12th from 4 to 6 p.m.
We, the family, would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and Doctors at Mill Creek Care Centre in Barrie Ontario for their compassionate care of our beloved ‘Ellie» during her stay there. As an expression of Sympathy, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or to a Charity of one’s choice.
Our family will also be acknowledging the death and loss of our dear brother Joseph during our funeral visitation and service with commemorative photos and prayers.
