Dr. Jack Elstein
With deepest regret, we announce the passing of Dr. Jack Elstein on Saturday, March 27th, 2021. Devoted son of the late Perry and the late Rose Elstein. He leaves behind his best friend and loving sister, Dr. Eleanor Elstein (Dr. Brian Gilfix) and his loving and cherished niece, Reisa Gilfix, of whom he was very proud. Dearest nephew of the late Nathan Abramovitch and the late Mary Abramovitch.
He was a graduate of McGill University (BSc) and obtained his MD degree at the University of Ottawa. Following specialty training in Internal Medicine, he was a dedicated and caring physician first recruited to the Montreal General Hospital and then practicing on the South Shore. He was practicing until his last few days.
Jack’s life was characterized by devotion and caring first of his late parents and providing loving support and friendship to his sister and family.
A private graveside service will take place. Shiva is strictly private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
