DOUBLEDAY – Montford J. “Monty”, 59, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Born in Halifax, Monty was a son of the late John and Faye (Robar) Doubleday.
Monty was a former cook at Queens Manor, Liverpool and enjoyed playing darts at the local Legion.
Monty is survived by his sister Mary Anthony of Liverpool, his brothers Alfred of Liverpool, Edward (Norma) and Charlie (Bonnie), both of Milton. His brother in law Vincent Jr. (Patricia) Whynot of Milton and good friend and care giver Tina Crowley.
Besides his parents, Monty was predeceased by his sisters Irene and Avis and his ex-wife Dale (Whynot).
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
Those attending Monty’s service are asked to provide the funeral staff with proof of vaccination, identification, contact tracing information. Also, all are to bring a mask and practice social distancing whenever possible.
Monty’s family wish to thank Dr. Ernest and Queens Home Support for their care.
