Obituary
Dorothy Norma Napier nee Gurnsey, passed away on March 28, 2021, with family by her side. Daughter of late Norman Gurnsey and Anna Wilkins. Dorothy (Dot) is now with her husband Harvey, children Norman, Ann, Ken, Billy, Marguerite, daughter in law Wanda, son in law Barry and grandson Leonard. Dot is survived by her children Harvey Napier (Carol), Danna Teal (Larry), David Napier (Rowena, her special caregiver/daughter for the last few years), Irene Hepburn (Gord Young), Beverly Lyman (Joel), Verna Simpson (Greg), Valerie Hackett (Brian) and son in law George Martyn. Dot is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Dot is survived by sister in laws Greta Napier, Bev Napier, Betty Lefave (Napier) and Bev McCormick. Dot retired from DuPont Canada with over 30 years service. After retirement Dot and Harvey spent winters in Florida which she often talked about, she enjoyed the sun and time spent with Harvey. Dot loved to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, play bingo and will be missed by her bingo family, many called her (Mom). Dot also loved her cats. The family was fortunate for the kindness and compassion shown by paramedic staff Luke and Eddie, as well as KGH staff Dr. Chaplin, Head Nurse Angela and Nurse Scott. Dot will be missed by her family and friends. Due to current health restrictions limiting attendance, a Private Family Funeral Service will be held at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME in Napanee on Saturday, April 3. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website and you are invited to watch beginning at 11:00 a.m., or anytime thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kingston Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
