Obituary of Donat Henryk NOWACZYNSKI

Donat Nowaczynski, beloved husband of Regina Maria Nowaczynski (nee Wojcieszczyk) of Calgary, AB, passed away on March 9, 2021 at the age of 72 years.
Donat was born in Lubań Śląski, Poland, on March 26, 1948. He moved to Wroclaw where he graduated from Wroclaw Polytechnic as a Mechanical Engineer, and found his passion in working with cars. While in Wroclaw he met Regina, whom he married in 1971. He immigrated to Canada in 1987, and moved to Calgary in 1989 with his wife, daughter and son. Donat would continue to work with cars and transportation, and had a long dedicated career with Calgary Transit for over twenty-six years.
Donat was hardworking, loved to work with his hands and learn new skills. Whether it was rebuilding the engine on his BMW or renovating each house he’d lived in, once Donat had a vision, he wouldn’t quit until the job was done to perfection. He was a family man, loved his children, and spending time with his grandchildren. Donat also enjoyed skiing, photography and travelling the world to see different countries and their cultures.
Besides his loving wife of fifty years, he is survived by his daughter Kasia Kristensen, his son Tomasz Nowaczynski and their families. Donat is also survived by his sisters in Poland, Ewa Shultz and Iliana Raus, his niece Teresa Ginther, and their families as well.
A Private Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. For those who are unable to attend, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
