Obituary for David Edward Joseph Hughes
Today I lost my husband, the love of my life, my best friend for over 50 years and my rock. I pray David is now in a better place, free of the pain and confusion he bravely lived with due to Lewy Body Disease. He put up such a brave fight for many years and has been such an inspiration to people with his big smile and optimism …. Dave, I will love you forever .
Dearest husband of Wendy. Much loved dad of Nicola (Jamie), Chris (Bryony) and in England, Paul (Caroline). Beloved Pappa to Ryan, Evan and Ethan, whom he adored. He will also be missed greatly by his furry friend, Riley, who played a big part in his life.
A thank you goes out to everyone who has been there to help us along Dave’s journey, including his many doctors, homecare PSW’s, the SAM day program, Acclaim Health, the Halton/Hamilton Alzheimer Society and Alexander Place LTC Home. Also a huge thank you to Trevor for spending many fun hours playing snooker.
Cremation is taking place. Due to Covid restrictions there will not be a reception, instead I ask that you will take some time to think about David and remember how he touched your life.
We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget
