Obituary of Darla J. Cummings
Darla Joy Cummings Age 84 of Brandenburg KY, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021 with her family by her side. Darla was born August 16, 1936 in Elmira Heights, NY the daughter of the late Everett Elmer Siglin, Jr. and Beatrice Louise Shepard Siglin. She married her husband, Lynn Wendoll Cummings, on May 7, 1955. They had 50 years together and 5 children: Robert Clyde (Susan) Cummings of Norwich NY, Cindy Morin of Stephentown NY, Gregory Scott (Tracey) Cummings of Tulsa OK, Brian Keith (Judy) Cummings of Spotsylvania VA and Julie Ann (Gary) Shirkey of Brandenburg KY. Darla was predeceased by her father Everett E. Siglin, Jr., her mother Beatrice L. Siglin, her husband Lynn W. Cummings, her brother Melvyn Siglin, her sister Luana Mortensen and her daughter-in-law Tracey Cummings. Darla is survived by her sisters Gayle (Alfred) Borrego of MT and Dawn Matthews of Painted Post, NY. She had 5 beautiful granddaughters that were the light of her life: Kelsey Rae (Jack) Crowley, Katelyn Ann Cummings, Tessa Cheyenne Cummings, Felicity Anne Shirkey and Heather Everly. She was also blessed to have three grandsons Correy, Charlie and Michael with 1 great granddaughter Georgia. She was an honorary grandma to many that loved her and was also a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Darla was happiest and felt closest to God when she was gardening. She was so proud of her flowers and loved all of her children’s pets like they were her own. Darla was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life and legacy lives on through those she loved and raised. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Friday August 6, 2021 from 11 AM to 1PM. Darla’s Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1PM. Darla Joy will be laid to rest next to her husband Lynn in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
