Kiecman, Danuta «Donna» (nee Wierszylo)
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the age of 85. She was born on January 20, 1936, in Orzysz, Poland. Beloved wife of the late Jaroslaw «Jerry» Kiecman. Loving mother of Danny (Donna), Henry and Irene. Proud Grandma of Danielle (Brandon), Lindsey (Mark), Nicole , Cameron and Great-Grandma to Ailie, Dylan, and Delilah. Predeceased by her husband Jerry, Grand-Daughter Nicole, her Uncle Stanley, Aunt Teresa and two brothers in Poland.
Donna was a longtime member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, both in Thunder Bay and Kitchener. She was also a dedicated member of the Ukrainian Robertson Hall and Prosvita Society. She was a proud member of TOPS Thunder Bay. She was employed at Hogarth Hospital until retirement. In her earlier years, she enjoyed picking blueberries and mushrooms. She loved making perogies and cabbage rolls with her family and going to the mall, not to shop but to socialize with friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her Grand Children and Great Grand Children.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the ICU at Grand River Hospital for their compassion and kindness. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467. Panachyda at the Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021. Funeral Mass at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 131 Victoria St. South, Kitchener on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery.
