Daniel’s Obituary
Daniel Anderson Rooks, age 51, passed away suddenly July 12 2021. Born September 8, 1969 at Edmonton Alberta, he grew up and lived most of his life at Hinton Alberta.
Dan Rooks Jr was a honorable man. He worked at the Hinton Pulp Mill for 31 years before transferring to Slave Lake Pulp in 2018.
Dan had many hobbies and talents. Genealogy, photography and spending time outdoors are just a few. He spent many years working with the Hinton Army Cadet Corps and this is where he met and fell in love with his wife. Dan was passionate about helping those who needed a hand up and spent many years working with the Burden Bearers Organization.
Dan is survived by his wife Brandy, daughters Andrea (Dylan) and Maeghan; Granddaughter Peyton; parents Dan Sr and Margaret; Mother in law Vicki Mayan. His brothers Donald (Theresa) and David; Sister in law Opal Mayan (Jeremy), brother in law Jesse Mayan; niece Calli and nephew Scott along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dan was predeceased by his Father in Law Allen Mayan.
Funeral services will be held at The Legacy Center, Slave Lake AB on July 24, 2021 at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
