METCALFE, Constance Anne, was born August 1, 1928 at her parent’s fruit farm in Stoney Creek Ontario. She began her teaching career at a one room school in Saltfleet Twp immediately upon graduating from high school. Constance later graduated from McMaster University. After a short stint teaching in Orillia, she began a long teaching career at Dundas Secondary School in Dundas, Ontario. After retirement she had a successful career buying and selling antique linens.
Constance died peacefully on September 25, 2021 at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket. She was predeceased by her parents, Sara May (nee Widdows) and William Metcalfe, brother Willan Metcalfe and wife Zona, Sister Dorothy Grieve and husband John and niece Karen Barker.
She is survived by her nephews Richard Metcalfe (Lynne) of Newmarket Ont., Ian of Mount Prospect Illinois, Andrew John of Chicago Illinois and niece Rebecca (Michael) of Kalamazoo Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St Newmarket, L3Y 3Y9. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers Constance requested donations be made to Margaret Bahen Hospice, 653 Queen St., Newmarket Ontario L3Y2J1
