Obituary of Chris VanSchalkwyk
Unexpectedly, the family of Christopher John VanSchalkwyk announce his passing at the Wiarton Hospital on Monday, June 7, 2021; at 46 years of age.
Beloved husband and best friend of Ashley Hobbs. Loving father of Chloe, Zach, Ethan, Dylan and Ariel. Cherished son of Janet and Ken Carefoot and son-in-law of Jeff and Ann Hobbs. Dear brother of Eliza Seabrook, Amy VanSchalkwyk, Nick Patterson-South and Katrina Smith. Chris will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his grandparents Jack and Mae Spearin and Ben and Ena VanSchalkwyk and his Aunt Benita VanSchalkwyk.
Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing with friends and family and living life to the fullest. A visitation for Chris will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8, (519) 376-7492. on Friday, June 18th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, if you wish to attend visitation please RSVP by visiting Chris’s page on the funeral home website, or by phoning. A private funeral service will be held on June 19th from the funeral home chapel.
