Charles “Ivan” Bell
Passed away, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday April 27, 2021, of Ayr, in his 88th year. Beloved husband to Judy (nee Hortop); Cherished father to Faith Forde (Peter) of Chatham, Dale (Debbie of Chatham)and Donna of Ayr; Much loved grandfather to Aaron (Alex) and their son Elija; Andrew, and Jonathan (Sam) and their children Domonic and Kaida. Sadly missed by his sisters, Carol and Shirley and extended family.
Predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (nee Lawrenson,2002) his parents, Gordon Bell and Florence Bilkey, as well as a brother Harold.
Biography
Ivan was very involved with Ayr Minor Hockey Association, Ayr Minor Ball, North Dumfries Parks and Recreation Committee, 4H, Calvary Church, Ayr, Camp Cherith (Walkerton), Neighbours Helping Neighbours, and many other community activities. Ivan worked for the Vachon food company for 35 years. Upon his “retirement” he worked as a driver for Cambridge Dental Arts until his official retirement. Ivan was born and raised in the Stouffville area, and lived there until July of 1969 when he moved his family to Ayr because he took a job as Manager in the KW area for Vachon.
Family met at the WM. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr with procession to Ayr Cemetery for a graveside service and burial on Saturday May 1, 2020. Donations to Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, Ayr Campus or to the Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries would be appreciated.
