Charles’ Obituary
BISHOP, Charles Fredrick “Charlie” ~ age 81, of West Paradise and formerly of Kingston, NS passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Grace Haven Home for Seniors. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Elijah and Agnes (Coleman) Bishop. Charlie was very involved in the Kingston community. He served on the rink building committee and later became the Manager for over 30 years of the former Western Kings Arena (now named Credit Union Centre). Charlie was active in the business community being an owner with E.R. McMaster & Sons Ltd, then started Bishop Accounting with his personal approach towards his clients over the years. Charlie was an active member of the Kingston Lions for several years and also was a dedicated volunteer to the Hants-Kings CBDC. He was always there for his family and never could say no or questioned anything. Charlie enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey and horseback riding. He could be relied on for anything and will be sadly missed by his canine companions, Stuart and Chester.

Charlie is survived by his children, Randy Bishop (Rennie Reddy), Edmonton; Scott (Andrea) Bishop, North Kingston; Teresa (Mark) Wood, West Paradise; Michael (Tanya) Bishop, Kingston and their mother, Sharon Bishop, Kingston; sister, Pat (Chester) Bergunder, British Columbia; brother, Bruce Bishop, Centreville; brother-in-law, Wayne Downey, Port Williams; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Banks, Weston and their daughter Charlotte Rose Banks; Lucas Bowlby (Aaryn Bell), Bedford; Nicole Bowlby (Tyler Murphy), Nictaux; Samantha Wood (Dwight Lewis), Nictaux and their daughter Shelby Durling; Brooklyn Bishop and Emily Bishop, both of North Kingston; Eden Bishop and Ryan Bishop, both of Kingston. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Ruth Downey. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the North Kingston Cemetery officiated by Rev. Eugene Foster with Covid-19 safety protocols in place. All are welcome.
