We, the family of Carole Anne (Nicholson) MacPhee, are saddened to announce her passing on March 14, 2020, at the Cove Guest Home in Sydney.
Born in Sydney on November 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Ron and Christine (Campbell) Nicholson.
In her early career, she worked at the Bank of Montreal, Radar Base Library and the Steel Centre Credit Union. She was an active member of Sacred Heart & St. Margaret of Scotland Parishes, as well as an active participant of the Mira Pasture CO-OP. Carole’s social life revolved around her family and her community.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Moira (Bryan) Marks, Halifax; son, Sean (Catherine), Halifax; grandsons, Nicholas and Alistair; sisters, Florence (Owen Carrigan), Halifax and Margo (Paul Timmons), Clarkson; brothers, Bob (Debi),Ottawa and Cameron; and brother-in-law, Jay Duguid, Sydney.
Carole is also survived by John’s family, sisters, Mary Gillis, Grand Mira, Theresa (Murray) MacKinnon, Halifax and Sadie (Dennis) Kerr, Dartmouth; brothers, Fr. Norman, Glace Bay, Danny (Liz), Sydney, Stephen (Judy), Ottawa and Allan (Mary), Dartmouth; and sister-in-law, Anna MacPhee, Sydney.
She was predeceased by her husband, John; brothers, Ron, Jack and Harold (in infancy); sister, Debbi Duguid; brothers-in-law, Archie MacPhee, Malcolm MacPhee, Bonnie MacPhee and Vincent MacPhee; sisters, Sadie MacPhee and Anne Gillis; brothers-in-law, Bernie (M.D.) Gillis, Bernie Rose Gillis, also, sisters-in-law, Mary MacPhee and Lillian Nicholson.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, Grand Mira on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul MacGillivray officiating. Interment will take place in St. Margaret’s Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cove Guest Home, the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or the MacPhee Family Bursary of Cape Breton University
