Obituary
ZAPF, Carol-Lynne
It is with love and admiration that the family of Carol-Lynne Zapf announce her passing on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 75. Her loving daughters, Kara and Carissa were with her by her side. Carol-Lynne was born in Regina, SK and moved to Saskatoon when she was a young child. She met the love of her life in Regina, got married and moved back to Saskatoon, started their family and remained there until her passing.
Carol-Lynne loved all her family so much and they were all very special to her. She was an advisor, confidante and friend to many over her lifetime. While the girls were growing up you could usually find her at the school being a “Room mom”, helping kids learn English as a second language, or volunteering for something. As the girls got older Carol-Lynne went back to work. She was the Church Secretary at Augustana Lutheran Church for numerous years and then started a new adventure that became her passion. She became the Volunteer Co-ordinator at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital for about 15 years and then short stints at City Hospital and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Mom was also a woman of strong faith in God which was a great comfort throughout her life. She was very active in her church communities – Sunday School coordinator, council representative, committee member and parishioner.
Carol-Lynne is survived by her loving daughters Kara and Carissa. She is also survived by sisters Elaine Walter (Ron) and Lisa Warner (Alistair), brother Mel Warner (Linda), sisters in law Bernice Zapf and Shirley Wagner (Ron) along with numerous special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by the love of her life Victor, parents Art and Alma Warner, mother and father in law Martha and Christian Zapf, brothers in law Cliff Zapf, John Zapf, Wilfred Zapf, Gordon Zapf and Victor Carl (infancy) Zapf, sister Helen Scheinbein and sister in law Clara Zapf, and great nephew Riley Thibault. We would like to thank Dr. Stryker and team at the Chronic Kidney Clinic, Home Care Palliative Care Services and Dr. Fraser for their caring and compassion.
If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church or The Hospice at Glengarda through St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 with live-streaming available at: www.aspenfilms.ca/mg
