CARIDI, Carmelo – With heavy hearts the family of Carmelo Caridi wish to announce his passing on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the age of 82. Carmelo passed peacefully with his loving family, caring for him by his side. He leaves behind his devoted wife Maria, his cherished only child, Phil and his loving daughter in law, Vicki. Carmelo lived for the purpose of adoring his cherished 3 grandchildren, Athena, Philip and Nicholas. They were the light of his life and they will treasure every beautiful moment they made all together. He enjoyed gardening with them, watching movies with them, playing the accordion for them, watching them play hockey in his living room at his feet and holding checkers tournaments. Carmelo will be greatly missed by his sisters Antonia (the late Antonio) Giordano, Francesca and Sebastiana of Italy. Predeceased by his brother Domenico Caridi (Rosa). He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers-and sisters-in-law Egidio (Vanda) Maccarrone, Gioconda (Peter) Reda, Carmelina (Peter) Borelli of Alberta and the late Rita Marchese. Loving uncle to Bruna Puglielli (Mario), Rosa Maisano (Peter), Peter Giordano (Judy), Nancy Pucci (Aldo), Phil Caridi (Mary) and Francesca, Bruna, Emma, Bruna, Francesca, Giuseppe and their families, of Italy. Carmelo immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 and settled in Brantford to create a family that he was so proud of and who will honour his memory in their hearts forever. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday, October 26th from 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly Street, on Wednesday, October 27th at 11 a.m. A private family entombment will follow at the Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in Paris.
