Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bruce Barry Patterson of Pierceland, Saskatchewan announce his passing on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 63 years.
Bruce was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family more than anything and was always game for an outdoor adventure with his grandkids. He was a Military veteran, having proudly served his country for 30 years. Bruce was passionate about hockey and was a dedicated fan of the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed coaching youth hockey in every community he lived in throughout his service in the Canadian Armed Forces, finishing his coaching career as the first Head Coach of the Cold Lake Jr. B Ice. Bruce was also a Scout for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League. His love for hockey will live on through his children and grandchildren. Bruce was also an avid hunter and Taxidermist. He met many friends through his taxidermy business and was always eager to swap hunting stories with anyone who stopped by his shop. Bruce’s love for animals didn’t stop at hunting, with a move to the country he and his wife Tannis enjoyed horseback riding and adopted many furry family members from the SPCA over the years.
Bruce is lovingly survived by his wife of 39 years: Tannis Patterson of Pierceland, SK; two children: Bradly (Jennifer) Patterson of Lethbridge, AB, Lindsay (Derrick) Harrison of Pierceland, SK; four grandchildren: Cayleigh & Braden Patterson, Madelynn & Rudy Harrison; mother: Velda Patterson of Baldwin Mills, QC; five siblings: Sandra Patterson, Gary (Irene) Patterson, Sharon Patterson (Daniel), Angus Patterson (Michele), Donna (Holger) Richter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & many friends.
Bruce was predeceased by his father: Angus Patterson.
Service of Remembrance, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Pierceland Community Hall, Pierceland, SK with Pastor Ron Hewitt officiating.
In accordance with Saskatchewan Public Health Measures, ALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK.
