Obituary of Brenda Marie O’Keefe
Brenda Dunphy O’Keefe, born in Freshwater, NL, on December 16th, 1958, passed away at 04:20, February 13th, 2021 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls, NL. She is survived by her two children, Sheena and Kelly O’Keefe, her siblings Gary, Wayne (Carm) and Eileen (Kevin), as well as her nieces Tanya (Marcel) and Jyllian (Mark), and nephew Martin (Randene), and her brother-in-law Fergus Lambe. Brenda will be welcomed at the gates of Heaven by her mother and father, Mary and Martin Dunphy, as well as her siblings Martin, Rosemary («Fox»), and Gerard, as well as her loyal dog, Boomer. She was loved by all who knew her and bore witness to her unwavering kindness, warmth and honesty. She had an unmatched green thumb and love of all plants and animals. She was a very talented musician (pianist, singer, songwriter), and all who heard her music will miss hearing her play.
The family would like to issue a special thanks to the staff at ward 4a at the Central NL hospital (thank you for the plant!), as well as the kind staff at the Carmelite house. We also would like to issue a very special thanks to all her neighbors in Phillips Head (Kim, Perry, Karen and Melvin especially) who have been absolute angels in these difficult times.
Brenda will be laid to rest with her predeceased in the family plot in Freshwater.
She will forever be in our hearts and never forgotten.
