It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Brenda Chénard (nee Lennox). God decided that her work here on earth was complete, and that it was time for her to rest. He welcomed her into His arms on February 3rd, 2021 at the age of 65 years old. Beloved wife of 48 incredible years to Pat; her one and only true love. Much-loved mother to her sons James (Jennifer) of South Lyon, MI and Paul (Christel) of Windsor, ON. Proud Nana to Nicholas & Alexander and known as Nana C. to her step-grandchildren Anna, Ava and Alivia. She is survived by her loving parents, Jim & Doreen Lennox of Tilbury. Dear sister to Elaine Ford (Paul) of Harrow, ON. and Penny Ribey (Walter) of Goderich, ON. Sister-in-law to Albert (Mary) Chénard, Denis Chénard, Jean-Paul Chénard (2019) of Windsor, and Céline (Réal) Bérubé, Thérèse (Gilles) Chénard, Monique (Charles) Chénard, Marthe (Serge) Ouellette, Bernadette (Pierre) Chénard, Christanne Chénard, Jacynthe Chénard of Québec. Also survived by many nieces and nephews across Ontario, Québec and Europe.
Brenda & Pat were avid travelers; often taking trips across Canada and Europe exploring their favourite parts of the world and forming lasting friendships along the way. Despite her initial apprehension she was always willing to challenge herself with activities like downhill skiing, white water rafting and ziplining so she could experience those wonderous moments with her husband.
Brenda’s 22-year career at Sears was filled with passion as she led the Children and Ladies Wear departments. Over the years, she befriended countless co-workers and “regulars”. She helped organize countless company events including the fashion shows, summer picnics and most memorably, the children’s Christmas parties with Santa.
As their proud Nana, Brenda could be seen cheering her grandsons at their hockey games in arenas across Windsor/Es and throughout Ontario. She was not shy about telling everyone about how much she loved them and their athletic accomplishments.
Brenda was a long-standing member of the Beta Sigma Phi; Chapter Delta Epsilon Master. She was also a proud member of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra Guild. Her sisterhood and Guild members held a special place in her heart and she treasured countless memories with them.
Sincere thanks to Windsor Regional Hospital Cancer Clinic Team and Strata Oncology in Ann Arbor, MI. Most special thanks to LHIN/CCAC, Hospice of Windsor, VON, Paramed health care professionals for their exceptional & compassionate care in her final days at home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Transition to Betterness-Dr. Michelle Prince Comfort Care Tote and Hospice of Windsor.
