Surrounded by her family, Bonita Lorraine Poirier went to be with her Saviour on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the age of 66. Bonnie was born in Chipman, NB on June 11, 1954 daughter of the late Albert and Annette (Knox) White. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David Poirier; daughters, Penny McGuire (Todd) and Rebekah Poirier (Brandon); sons, Hans (Susie) and Mark (Nadine); sister, Shelly (Adam) Carrier; brothers, Larry, Curtis (Margaret), Hal (Wendy), Bradford (Tina), Troy, Trevor (Anari); 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Bonnie was a kind, caring & compassionate Lady who could sing like a songbird. You could find her cooking up a storm over the years and my, could she cook!! She welcomed into her home family, friends, missionaries and fellow ministry and she certainly had the great gift of hospitality.
Being a Pastor’s wife herself for most of her married life, many were blessed as she encouraged, listened and gave wonderful, Godly counsel. She served the Lord ever since she was a young girl and In turn led many to the Lord even of her own family. She was a doting Grandmother and in the past few years added Great Grandmother to her resume.
David & Bonnie had a true love story that has weathered many storms of life and they have been a wonderful example for their children, grandchildren and for others to see. They have truly been devoted to each other and you rarely saw one without the other. Truly we can say of our precious Mother these words from Proverbs 31. “ 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Annette (Knox) White; brothers, Mark, Kevin and Gilbert White.
The family will welcome friends of Bonnie at the Chipman United Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held following the visitation at 2:00 pm with Pastor Stanley O’Donnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canaan United Pentecostal Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. Interment will be at the Chipman United Pentecostal Church Cemetery following the service.
