It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Blanche Rhea Louittit announce her peaceful passing on June 13th, 2021 in Vernon, BC (age 95).
Blanche was born in Brooks, Alberta, on April 9 1926 to John and Loveanna Tourganeau. In 1945 Blanche married Joseph Miller and had one daughter (Caroline) before moving to Armstrong in 1948 where the couple had two other daughters (Yvonne and Esther). She remarried in 1974 to Donald Louittit and the couple had many happy years. Blanche is predeceased by Joseph Miller, Donald Louittit, grandsons Ronald Moore and Kyle Moore, her loving parents, and many brothers and sisters.
Blanche loved family, fishing, and of course her faith. Never let it be said that Mom let anyone win at cards, she played to win. She was an active member in her beloved community of Armstrong. The Catholic Women’s League, Armstrong Loan Cupboard, Meals to Wheels, Armstrong Hospital Auxiliary, and the Armstrong Legion Ladies are a few of the many organizations she was involved with. Blanche had many losses in her life but her faith and optimism always got her through. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and the music that would always accompany their gatherings.
Blanche is survived by her brothers: Raymond (Yvette) Tourangeau and Hector (May) Tourangeau. She is also survived by her daughters Caroline (Omer), Yvonne (Vern), and Esther (Vic). She will also be missed by her extended family, and the nieces and nephews of Don Louittit. With 9 loving grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, Blanche will always be remembered.
A private Catholic Mass Funeral will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (3335 Patterson Street, Armstrong).
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Blanche Rhea Louttit June 13th 2021..
