Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister,
aunt and friend Blanche Margurite «Marge» Carrigan passed
away with family by her side at the age of 94 years at Seaside Manor,
Canso. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Isabel
Marr of Boylston, last surviving member of her immediate
family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Edward Marr
(Edna) Canso; Kenneth, Canso; Ray (Eileen), Canso; Darlene (Joe),
Phillips Harbour; Diane Weir (Wayne), Antigonish; Bonnie (Dana),
Canso; Paul, Canso; Daren Canso; Audrey Newcombe (Andrew), Falmouth;
special niece, Barb Talbot (|Herb), Canso; step-daughter, Mocelia
Yerxa, Streetsville, Ontario; 17 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren,
15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her
loving husband, William Morton Carrigan; beloved son, Carmen; stepson,
William and 18 siblings.
Family was her everything. She taught us that no matter what,
family comes first. She enjoyed gatherings with her
children, grandchildren, live music and a good sail with the
«Captain». She leaves us with a lifetime of memories,
laughter and her songs that will forever bring a smile to our faces.
She was a devoted Catholic. We hope heaven is ready for her with calm
seas and endless bingo. Let us know if the rain will hurt the
rhubarb. «The love in our family flows strong and deep,
leaving us memories to treasure and keep.»
At her request cremation has taken place, however due to
COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public visitation. A
funeral to celebrate her life will be held in Star of Sea Parish,
Canso, on Thursday, January 14th, at 11a.m. Due
to restrictions, priority seating will be given to
family.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canso Seaside
Manor Recreation Department, Canso.
