Obituary of Betty Baptie (nee Polinsky)
BAPTIE, Betty (née Polinsky) – Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in her 94th year. Mother of Wendy Stinson and family, and Gary Baptie and family. Sister of Jackline Bender, Sandra Reist-Lyddiatt, John Wilson, William Wilson, Clifton Wilson, Heather Wagler, late Dorothy Spaetzel, and the late Henry Polinsky. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Betty was born in Preston, ON, July 12, 1928. She was a daughter to the late John “Jack” Polinsky and the late Emma (née Kurt) Polinsky Wilson. A private family visitation and service was held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, August 4th, followed by interment in South Park Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Elgin Branch will be gratefully acknowledged. The family wish to express their gratitude to the staff and friends at her last home, The Wallis Residence. Sincere appreciation as well to the doctors, nurses and others who helped her through the years.
