Beatrice’s Obituary
Passed away at Coleman Care Centre, Barrie on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Clara Beatrice McCutcheon formerly of Markdale and Dundalk in her 103rd year. Beloved wife of the late Bruce McCutcheon. Dear mother of David McCutcheon (Sylvia Watson) of Toronto and Lawrence McCutcheon (Sylvia) of Newmarket. Cherished grandmother of Andrew McCutcheon (Andrea), Michelle Brier (Aaron), Emily McCutcheon, Craig McCutcheon, and Scott McCutcheon. Great-grandmother of Hudson, Darwin, and Bronson. Beatrice will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by parents Paul and Clara (nee Craig) Schramm, brother Howard Schramm, sisters Dorothy Dunne (Frank) and May Seehaver (Gordon).
Beatrice was a very caring and gracious person. She made friends easily and remained friends with people for years. She was an active church member her whole life. She sang in the choir, led the choir, and even sang solos and duets. She loved to travel; and over the years made trips to England, Ireland, France, Australia and New Zealand. She was always curious about things, and although she didn’t care for novels, she read anything that would feed this desire to understand the world. She had a great interest in history and never drove by a pioneer village if given a chance to visit. Beatrice taught at various schools, including Highpoint Elementary in Dundalk. Later in life she upgraded her teaching certificate by taking university courses in art and music. She painted several pictures and enrolled in painting classes. She was an avid gardener who took pride in her flowers. Beatrice enjoyed sharing childhood and teaching stories with her grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale on Sunday, June 13th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. In order to attend, all guests must call the funeral home at 519-986-3310 to register. All attendees must wear a mask and follow physical distancing protocols. A private family service will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, on Monday, June 14, 2021. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundalk.
