Barbara Isobel Oberle (nee Ramsey) was born February 12 1932 to Barbara and Edward Ramsey in Duncan BC. Mum passed away June 3rd 2021 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong BC.
Mum moved with her family to the family dairy farm on back Enderby road when she was 15 years old. She started working at 16 for her aunt Isobel at Mabel Lake. She also worked as a logging camp cook, bookkeeper/manager/store keeper for Rosedale Grocery, Armstrong dry cleaners, Shepherds Hardware, and finally as a cook at Willowdale nursing home in Armstrong where she worked for several years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Mum always enjoyed family gatherings and loved spending time with family at the Mabel Lake cabin. She had special relationships with her family and was always there to support them. Mum did many crafts, traveled, as well as caring for family. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a quiet, kind, loving person and loved to laugh and give hugs. Mum kept everyone well fed and was especially known for those amazing fresh baked buns!
Predeceased by her son Gary, brothers Bud, Fred & Dick. She will be greatly missed by her children Brian (Barb), Marleen (Dan) Grandchildren Gary, Nicole, Kaylene (Brayden), Dylan, Aleigha. Great grandchildren Connor, Asher and Declan. Her siblings Peggy, Ken(Mimi),Bill(Judi), Don(Fay), Isobel, Noreen(Brian), Len(Heather), many nieces and nephews and Jim Hardington.
Special thanks to Pleasant Valley Manor for all their loving exceptional care of mum. Thank you Dr. Vilyoen, sister in law Betty Bifano for being a constant friend, and to Joanne Sandaker’s caring companion care.
A private celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services in Armstrong, BC. In lieu of flowers please consider the Armstrong food bank or dementia care.
