It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara E W Currie in her 97th year at Campbell House.
Barb with her late husband Edgar founded Currie’s Farm Market. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Alvin (Virginia) and Neil (Nancy), grandchildren Chris (Candace), Mike (Deb) and Julie (Tony), great-grandchildren Gerald, Jenna, Henry, Brynne, Georgia and Kendra and sister-in-law Kay Morris.
Predeceased by her family members Alf, Ralph (Edith), Doug (Beverly), Gordon (Irene) Morris and Dorothy (Basil) Burns, and Lorne (Patsy) Currie.
She will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barb was born in Winnipeg Manitoba and raised in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, the middle child of Frank and Bertha Morris. She married Edgar in 1945 and moved to Collingwood. Barb (in her early years) was active in the Simcoe County Arts and Crafts, and as a Charter Member of Quota Collingwood. Legendary pie baker and author of her own cookbook. Drawing, painting, crafting spending time with family and friends were her favorite pastimes.
Barb always had a loving smile for all she met.
Thank You to the staff at Campbell House for the great care given to her and to Dr. Wells and his staff for their kindness and compassion.
There will be a private family service to honour her memory.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Barb can be made to Campbell House, Trinity United Church (please contact the funeral home) or the Cancer Society if desired.
