1961-2021
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother; Barbara Ann ‘Barb’ Colbourne nee Stewart. Barb left us peacefully holding the hand of her eldest daughter, Miranda at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 59 years. Originally from Birtle, Manitoba, Barb made her home within Alberta. She shared many happy memories around the province. She loved to spend time with her family, her cheeky humour and laugh will remain etched within our memories and hearts. Camping and spoiling her grandchildren had as of late been her shining moments of joy. A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be coordinated with this in mind at a later date. Barb will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce Colbourne, her eldest daughter, Miranda (Clyde Nelson) and their children, Nevaeh and Elias and her youngest daughter, Christine (Steven Argent) and their children, Lilith, Nova and Jemma. Barb will also be sadly missed by her mother Violet Fiddler nee Munn, her brothers James (Pearl), Robert (Mechelle) and her sister, Linda (Don) Nyznyk, as well as numerous wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Barb was predeceased by her father, Henry Stewart, step-father, Joe Fiddler and her parents-in-law, Lieutenant Douglas and Eleanor Colbourne nee Glover. She often counted her cats over the years as her children, Kingsley I, Kingsley II and Boots. In this, we ask that in lieu of flowers, a small memorial donation in Barb’s honour be made with the Alberta SPCA at www.albertaspca.org or any local animal rescue within your home towns.
