Annette Maillet
1935-2021
Beautiful, both inside and out!
Annette Maillet, in her 85th year, passed away peacefully on Sunday,
January 31, 2021, at Manoir St. Jean Baptiste in Bouctouche, NB. Born
October 2, 1935 in Sainte Marie de Kent, NB, and lived there in the
Maillet family homestead most of her life until moving to Bouctouche
in her later years.
Annette will be sadly missed by her dearest sister and best friend
Bernice Savoie, of Waltham, Massachusetts. She will be lovingly
remembered by her nieces and their spouses: goddaughters Brenda
Savoie Cleary (Jay) and Darlene McGuiney; Joanna Cormier (Angelo
Cozzarin), Shirley Schut (Larry), Dianne Cormier (Jeff Corner), Betty
Iagallo (Jimi), Doreen Porter (Russ), Louise LeBlanc (Ronald), and
Linda Maillet; nephew David Maillet (Karen); sister-in-laws, Gloria,
wife of Yvon, and Annette, wife of Alonzo. She also was a proud
great-aunt and great-great-aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents Telex and Alice (Roy)
Maillet; her siblings Yvon Maillet, Florence Cormier, Helen McGuiney,
Marie Melanson, and Alonzo Maillet; and by brothers-in-law Albeny
Cormier, Eddy McGuiney, Antoine Melanson, and Laurie Savoie; her
nieces Patsy (Denis) Robichaud and Joyce (Steve) Stojanovic; and also
by her special friend Ronaldo Allain.
Annette worked for many years in the dry cleaning business in
Bouctouche, impacting many people’s lives with her sweet loving
manner. She was always there with an encouraging word, remembering
birthdays and special events with a phone call or card, and always
there to provide comfort to others when needed. Annette would always
end a telephone call with “Je t’aime beaucoup
beaucoup!”
Although she never had children of her own, Annette was a tremendous
influence in the lives of all her nieces and her nephew. She will be
greatly missed and the world will be less bright without her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manoir St. Jean Baptiste
for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Annette during her
stay. A heartfelt “Thank You” to nurse Lucy Brown for the
unfailing assistance she readily gave to the family, in these times
when family could not be there in person, only in spirit.
In memory of Annette, memorial contributions may be made to the Manoir
St. Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche, NB. A private ‘Celebration of
Life’ service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral
Home, Bouctouche.
