It is with great sadness that we announce that Andrew J. Borowski passed away on Thursday June 17, 2021. Andrew was born on July 18, 1952 in Koscian, Poland to parents Zofia Gidaszewski and Albin Borowski. As a young man he came to Calgary in 1972. His love of adventure took him to Chicago in 1974 where he met his wife, Alice.
They moved to Calgary where Andrew studied at the University of Calgary. He became a Civil Engineer working on various projects throughout Western Canada, in Toronto and Libya.
Andrew loved travelling and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at his cabin in BC. He loved the outdoors, hiking, skiing and other recreational sports, creative projects and discovering new places.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Alice, his children and spouses; Kasia and David, Mila and Steve, Michael and Maja, and grandchildren; Cecilia, William, Natalie, Timothy, Charlie, Jacob, Ben, Matthew and Owen. He will be greatly missed.
A Private Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at OUR LADY QUEEN of PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2111 Uxbridge Dr. NW on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Due to Covid restrictions attendance is limited to 20 people.
Graveside Service will follow in “St. Joseph’s Section” at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
