Allan (Poppi)’s Obituary
Allan Archibald (Poppi) Curnew, age 89, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Allan is survived by his daughters: Alanna Corinne Culyer (Chris Culyer) and Sandra Leigh Baker (Chris Baker), grandchildren: Bruce Giles (Nicole Giles), Tara Giles (Tony Belemonte), Alexander Janssen (Katelyn Janssen), Andrew Janssen (Kristen Dyell), John Culyer (Amèlie Labrie), Devon Baker (Ariel Harriman), Christa MacNeil (Connor MacNeil), Nicholas Baker, Benjamin Baker, Zoe Pender and great-grandchildren: Malcolm, Roland, Bronwyn, Scotty, Bobbie, and sister Doreen Fitzgerald and her children Kelly Pender (Steve Pender) and John Fitzgerald (Joanne Tobin). Allan is preceded in death by his wife Edith Gertrude Quinlan. Allan enjoyed his sunset years with Mary Oxford and her children Gary and Grace Oxford, Matt and Audra Oxford, Darlene and Sean O’Brien, Karen Sheppard, Kim and Greg Childs, Terry Oxford, Aaron Oxford (Cassandra Fewer), 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation held at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at 1:30 PM, from where a celebration of life will take place at 2:00 PM with Dean Catherine Short officiating; Interment to take place at a later date. A special thanks to the nursing staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for taking care of Allan in his final days.
