Obituary for Alexander «Sandy» Bruce Wilson
It is with shock and great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Alexander “Sandy” Bruce Wilson, on Monday March 8th, 2021. Alex was battling cancer for several years and suffered other illnesses.
Part of a large, loving family, Alex was the son of Eleanor and Kenneth Wilson. He was brother to Pat, Keith, Nancy, and Russell, and predeceased by siblings Carol and David. Alex was brother-in-law to Brenda Emslie and Susan Wilson, predeceased by brothers-in-law Jean-Guy Côté and Keith Raynor, and loving uncle to Leslie Jefford, Cheryl Fearon, Melissa McDermott, Jocelyn Trevisan, Rob Howard, Laura Hurst, and Robert Raynor.
Alex attended David and Mary Thomson Collegiate, and York University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations. He attained a Masters of Business Administration at the George Washington University, class of ‘92.
Having a tremendous work ethic, Alex spent many years with Bell Canada at the beginning of his professional life. He then moved on to other telecommunication companies, travelling around the world working long-term international contracts in places such as Dubai, Honolulu, and Washington, D.C. With a wealth of experience, Alex was inspired to form his own company, 4-tel.com LLC, in Virginia, USA. For the past seven years, he was Director of Business Development for Canadian Network Installations in Markham, Ontario. Alex earned an Outstanding Service Award of Excellence in his fifth year at the company, and was a well-liked and respected colleague by many.
Alex lived life large, and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, where Alex received his treatments, would be graciously appreciated by the family. Regrettably, there is no in-person gathering due to Covid-19.
