Obituary of William «Bill» Archibald
Bill passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Victoria Hospital in London. Born in Chatham, Ontario, on January 3, 1939, William Alexander Archibald of Owen Sound, at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Katherine (née Wamboldt) Archibald for 28 years. Loving father of Lyn Lucas (Alan) of Connecticut, USA, Michael Archibald (Janet) of Etobicoke, Stephen Archibald (Cindy) of Oakville, Susan Fleming (Scott) of Owen Sound, Betty Muzzell (Bill) of Owen Sound, and step-father of Tina Gray (Peter) of Mildmay, Eleanor Legge (Carlton) of Liverpool, Nova Scotia and Colleen Smiley (Dan) of Port Medway, Nova Scotia. Cherished Grandpa of Keeghan, Owain, Joshua, Nicholas, Justin, Christian, Sophie, Kara, Sedar, Ashleigh, Mackenzie, Liam, Michael, Russell, Ryan, Cody, Taylor and Grace. Dear brother of Shirley Johnson of Toronto. Bill will also be missed by his niece Tammy Patrick, nephews Shawn Patrick, Willy MacDonald, his two ‘fur babies’ Zoey and Shiloh, and by his many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Ross and Marion, his sister Rosemary Patrick, and his brother-in-law Mark Johnson.
Cremation is taking place and a private service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Brain E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Friends are welcome to watch the service at 11:00 a.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre in Owen Sound would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home. Online condolences can be sent by visiting Bill’s memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
