Today, December 17, 2020 at the tender age of 65 years, Sam said goodbye to everyone he cared for and dearly loved. Sam is predeceased by his parents William Stevenson and Cora Mansfield; his sister Alicia Glazier and his brother Bud. He leaves to mourn his sisters Jeannie (Dave), Elizabeth (Chris) and Kathleen (Tom); his brothers Danny (Helena and their children Billy and Jennifer) and Fred (Rick); his Aunt Faye Brazil and many other relatives. Sam’s friends happen to be his other extended family; Basil Ryan, his companion for 36 years and the Ryan Family Irene Connolly (her daughter Cathy (Todd), John Kerrivan (Sherri and their son Hunter), Mary and Paddy Kerrivan, Jessie Nolan, Paul MacCormac, Gerald and Maureen Roche, Almeda Gosse, Tony and Patti Denine, Ruby Vokey, Brenda Doyle, Anne Marie Mercer, Bessie Murray, Tony and Leigh-Ann Power, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Young, along with all his friends and acquaintances at the Kenmount Bingo and his friends at Dominion Lakeside.
Sam would like to thank Dr. Andrew Hutton (his lifetime physician), Dr. Heidi Brake and all the members of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and personal attention, and especially Jennifer Collins his Community Health Nurse who visited him frequently and did everything possible to keep him comfortable.
As per Sam’s wishes, there will be no visitation, except for the graveside service on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:15 a.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In his remembrance, a donation to a favorite charity like The Gathering Place or the SPCA would be welcomed.
