Obituary of Theodor Gustav «Ted» Onarheim
Peacefully at the Belmont Long Care Facility, on Friday December 11th, 2020, at the age of 89. Son of the late Samuel & Jennie Onarheim. Beloved husband of the late E. M. (Sandy) Onarheim (nee Brown). Dear father of Sean Onarheim and Kathy Mason & son-in-law Bill. Ted started his career as a Forest Fire Fighter in Kenora, Ontario. He later joined the RCAF and spent time in various bases in Canada and as part of the NATO contingent in Europe. Ted was decorated for bravery by Her Majesty The Queen for his action in helping rescue the pilot of a burning sabre jet at RCAF Station Chatham, N.B. in August of 1957. Ted’s family wishes to thank Dr. Forbes and the wonderful staff at Belmont for their care and compassion. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, Belleville (613-968-2273).
