Susan Skipper
1950 – 2020
Susan Skipper passed away peacefully in her sleep in St. Boniface Hospital on June 17th, after a lengthy hospital stay.
Susan was born and raised in Transcona and proudly maintained her allegiance to that community throughout her entire life. She was a “people person” with a strong work ethic and sense of generosity. She willingly applied her abilities to a variety of employment and volunteer positions, mostly in the hospitality and people-related professions. Susan’s interests were many: she assumed cooking responsibilities for her family at a young age, following her mother’s early passing. She was totally at ease in any culinary environment and could adapt in a heartbeat, no matter the composition and size of the crowd she was serving. Susan loved jigsaw puzzles, computer games, bingo, and playing Trivial Pursuit with her grandchildren. She had a keen sense of her family’s roots in Scotland and Ireland, and never lost her interest in and dreams of travelling to new places, near or far. Susan was the “go-to” authority on old movies, particularly musicals, yet enjoyed modern entertainment as well.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Dawn and Russell Moore of Transcona, and her brother, Harry Moore.
Susan will be dearly missed by her many friends and family: husband Alan Skipper, son Michael Moore of Winnipeg, daughter Amanda Lisenchuk (Greg) of Edmonton, brother Jack Moore (Bev) of Winnipeg, brother Bill Moore (Ressa) of Calgary, sister Karyn Gabriel of Montreal and sister-in-law Pat Moore of Winnipeg as well as five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has already taken place and, due to corona virus restrictions, a private service for the immediate family will be held.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the continual patience, care, and compassion extended during Susan’s stay and her passing. We would like to express our appreciation to the staffs at both Concordia and Grace Hospitals, and Bardal Funeral Home for their assistance and understanding.
