Death Notice
Kennedy, Ruth Amy (nee Wyatt) – Passed away peacefully at Sakura House in Woodstock on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in her 99th year, formerly of London, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Alvin Kennedy of 64 years (2005) Ruth was the much-loved mother of Norma (Glenn) Forster of Woodstock, and Raymond (Jenny) Kennedy of Udora. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Karie Forster (Norm), Laura Baes, Janet Rutgers (Richard), Kevin Forster (Catherine), Christine Brown (Riley), Bryce Kennedy. Also missed by her seven great-grandchildren Deighna, Kateland, Justin, Matthew, Nolan, Reid, Marjorie. She was the much-loved older sister of Ethel Hunter (Stan deceased) and Jack Wyatt (Mary Jo).
Ruth was a long-time member of Empress United Church in London, and Colborne Street United Church in London. She was a wonderful, thoughtful individual that truly cared about people. Her family meant the world to her and was her proudest accomplishment. Ruth spent 94 years living in London, maintaining her independence living in her own house. She moved to Woodstock four years ago, to be closer to family, residing at Cedarview and Langdon Retirement Homes. She maintained her incredible memory, and story telling ability her entire life. She lived through some amazing times and could tell you about living on the farm shortly after being married, without electricity and running water. She always appreciated everything so much, a wonderful quality that she has passed along to her family.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Sakura House for the wonderful care that Ruth received while there.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at the Harris Funeral Home, in London. Reverend Diane Macpherson will officiate. Interment to follow at St. George’s Cemetery in Hyde Park. Memorial donations to VON Sakura House Woodstock or Colborne Street United Church in London would be appreciated.
