Rosalind Elizabeth (Allen) Moreau
1939-2020
Rosalind Elizabeth (Allen) Moreau – age 81, of
North Alton, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Melanson, she was the daughter
of a late Clayton and Evelyn (Cavanagh) Allen. Rosalind was a devoted
career nurse and completed her training at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium
in 1961. She then moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick to begin her
nursing career. She subsequently worked as a nurse in Montreal, Que.;
Moncton, NB; and Thompson, MB, and returned to Kentville in 1975.
Rosalind worked at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial and Valley Regional
Hospitals before retiring in 2001. Rosalind was a dedicated, caring
and compassionate nurse, and was loved and respected by her co-workers
and former patients. Rosalind was an active member of the Valley
Chapter of the Licensed Nurse Practitioners Association. Rosalind
cherished her friends from nursing and maintained lifelong
friendships. Rosalind was the loving wife of Gill Moreau, and beloved
mother of son, Brian. Rosalind met Gill in 1963, in Fredericton, where
he was posted with the Canadian Military. They married on February 22,
1964. Rosalind and Gill have one son, Brian (Ericka). Rosalind was
predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Chesley, Charlie, Glen,
Alton, Leslie, Steven, Dorothy and Ena. She will be fondly remembered
by her five surviving brothers and sisters, Bud, Paul, Barbara,
Beverly, and Audrey. Rosalind will be fondly remembered for her
fun-loving personality and sense of humour. She embraced holidays and
enjoyed decorating and dressing for each occasion. She enjoyed singing
and dancing, camping, tending to her flowers, and being outside in
nature. She was an honest, caring person that could always be counted
upon to lend a helping hand or provide a shoulder to cry on. She
enjoyed volunteering in the community, helping with potlucks and bake
sales. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Rosalind’s devotion and love of her family and friends will
always be remembered. Our lives have been enriched simply by having
been touched by this great woman. Due to Covid-19 pandemic and travel
restrictions, a private service will be held in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. Masks will be required and physical
distancing will be observed. Burial to take place in the Elm Grove
Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory of Rosalind
may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
