RENATO ROXAS FRANCISCO
(August 1, 1939 – July 6, 2020)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Renato Roxas Francisco (August 1, 1939 – July 6, 2020). He passed away at the Victoria hospital In Winnipeg at the age of 80 due to metastatic prostate cancer. He is survived by his 5 children; Fernando, Zenaida, Cristina, Cecilia and Enrico. Renato is also survived by many grandchildren and 3 siblings who are spread throughout Canada and the Philippines.
Renato was born in Talaba, Bacoor, Cavite in the Philippines and came to Canada in the 1970s. He worked for New Flyer in Winnipeg for several years until he retired only a couple of years ago. Renato’s life was colourful and anything but boring. He loved hanging out with his friends and jamming out to some good old karaoke (he loved the Bee-Gees). Although the last year of his time with us was not an easy road, Renato was definitely a fighter and will forever be known as such.
He will greatly be missed by family and friends.
Rest in paradise Tatay Rene. May you be in peace and free from suffering.
