Raymond Joseph Lavoie, of Sturgeon County, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on May 23, 2020 at home in the presence of his family.
A devoted husband and father, Ray is survived by his loving wife Delores, of 48 years, along with his five children: Darren (Tamara) Lavoie, Wes (Claudine) Lavoie, Raeann (Guy) Lefebvre, Kevin (Dianne) Lavoie, and Christine (Brad) Atkinson. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Dane, Brady, Denae, Brielle, Sean, Sam, Nate, Xavier, James, Natalie, Levi, Tyson, Zach, Hailey and Paige and many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will all miss him dearly.
He is also survived by his brother Len, and his sisters Lucille (Leo) and Toni (Kal). He was predeceased by his father and mother, Jacques and Eva, sister Simone, and brother, Norman.
Apart from managing his successful automotive business and the farm, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin. He enjoyed boating, watersports and fishing with his wife, children and grandchildren. Then finishing the day with whiskey and peanuts by the campfire. He took an active interest in his children’s lives, their next projects and, as a jack of all trades, Ray was always providing a helping hand where and when he could. He was very proud of his children. Ray never missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events, competitions, dance recitals and Christmas concerts. Their birthday parties were his favourite pastimes.

His favorite charities were STARS Air Ambulance, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Foundation.
