Ralph Rothstein
July 12, 1933 – May 31, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph Rothstein announces his death at the age of eighty-six. He is survived by his wife, Jane Adams, children, Mitchell (Marc Rouleau), Shelley (Erle Schneidman), and Russell (Sheryl Waxman); his siblings, Sylvia Lebner (the late Louis Lebner) and Myra Sadowski (late Ray Sadowski); and grandchildren, Jason (Nazanin), Robbie (Nicole), Harry, Jillian, Joseph, Rachel, Benjamin and Noah. Predeceased by his brother, Hymie Rothstein.
Ralph grew up in Pointe-Saint-Charles and went on to own and lead multiple printing and packaging companies. A great athlete, as a younger man he was a pro bowler, champion amateur golfer, and great tennis player. He represented Canada in golf at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1969. Ralph was very proud of his grandchildren and never stopped adoring them and living through all their accomplishments – they were his greatest pride. His soulmate was Jane, whom he lived with and loved for thirty-seven years and who took such wonderful care of him over the last few years as he faced continuous health obstacles with his typical positive and “tough it” out attitude. Ralph is beloved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
We are very grateful for the care and kindness shown to him by all the staff at the Kastner Pavilion of the Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare Centre where donations would be most appreciated (Donald Berman Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation, (514) 738- 4500 ext.: 2124).
