At the Colville Manor on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, Joseph “Joe” Gillis passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was in his 92nd year of East Point, PE. Beloved husband of 66 years to Margaret (nee Coffin) and loving father to Donnie (Beverley), Eric (Jean), Rena Grant (David), Walter, Murray, Kent and Sheldon. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Blair (Candy Handrahan), Leon (Katie), Jessica, Jennifer, Lucas (Kristan), Keeghan, Jake and by his great grandchildren Payton, Colton, Hayden and Liam. Also to mourn his loss are the Coffin family who will miss him dearly. Predeceased by his parents John Sr. and Marion Gillis, brothers Daniel and John Gillis and son Blair.
The family would like to acknowledge the doctors and staff of the Colville Manor for the wonderful care that was given to Joe during his time there.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place for family only. A funeral mass will be held at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield. Due to public health restrictions, the mass will be for invited guest only. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the funeral service. If so desired, donations made to the St. Columba Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family.
