Percy Barnaby, of Eel Ground First Nation, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the age of 84, with his son, Peter, and beloved friend, Michelle Poirier, by his bedside.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Peter and Suzie Barnaby.
He will be greatly missed by his three sons; Peter (Samantha) of London, Ontario, Michael (Starr) of Seeley’s Cove, New Brunswick and François (Nathalie) of Châteauguay, Quebec; and nine grandchildren, Judah, Madeline, Charlotte, Sydney, Savana, Lexa, Triton, Oryan, and Zachary.
Besides his parents, Percy was predeceased by his wife Carol Ann (Moody) Barnaby, 2019; son, Gary Barnaby, 1980; sister, Marjorie Yascavage, 2020; brother, Archie Barnaby, 2010; and two infant brothers, Kenneth and Peter.
Percy will also be missed by his sisters Anita McCulloch (John), Ottawa, On; Patricia Dewan (Louis), Osgoode, Ontario; Diana Barnaby (Gary), Burton, New Brunswick; and children from his first wife, Mary (2017); daughters Kathy, Darlene, and Carla, and son, Kevin; as well as many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
