Patrick Norman Towne 1955-

Patrick Norman Towne was 65 and proud Resident of Clearwater BC. Pat quietly passed away at his residence on August 10, 2020 due to on going health complications.
He was born on May 19, 1955 to parents Norman Towne and Joann Whieldon (nee Keyser)
Pat was a superior athlete in track and field at Garibaldi High School in Maple Ridge BC, destined for greatness until age 18 when a devastating back injury ended his dreams abruptly. Upon his recovery Pat entered the work force to financially assist the Family. Pat was never married and had no children although many seeds were sown, none germinated.
Pat was an avid treasure hunter, mystery solver and an inspirational photographer. Pat’s true calling or passion in life was to help others, to assist someone no matter how big or small a task. Pat never sought praise or recognition.
Anyone who truly knew Pat recognized that he was an extremely intelligent, honourable, thought provoking and a compassionate man with a deep despise of the BC NDP.
There were no contracts with Pat just a firm gentleman’s handshake and the acknowledgment in his eyes was binding enough. Pat’s word was as good as gold. Some may say that Pat was a storyteller who could keep you at the edge of your seat with his recollections but guaranteed they were all true and factual.
He lived a full and honest life.
Pat is survived by his Brothers Barton Towne, John Whieldon (Flocerfina) and his sister Linda Whieldon, Nephews Connor Towne, Turner Towne and David Whieldon, Nieces Meaghan Towne, and Kimberly Whieldon, also his extended family Ted Richter and Millie Remple, plus his many cats.
He was preceded in death by his Biological Father Norman Towne, his Mother Joann Whieldon (nee Keyser) and his Step Father “Sonny” Henry Whieldon whom Pat considered his Father, many friends, relatives and his dog Rin Tin Tin (yes the actual movie star dog).
On May 19, 2018 while Pat was recovering from quadruple bypass surgery at the Dr Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater BC, he was also celebrating his 63rd birthday. Upon request from his younger brother, Pat received a visit from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 259 Vavenby and District President who brought Pat a Special Birthday Gift, A large bag of Cheese Dorito’s. His cravings were fulfilled.
The family will not be holding any formal services until everyone is properly notified and a date for a Celebration of Life will be announced allowing all to attend. Everyone will be welcome (except the BC NDP – LOL).
In-lieu of sending flowers please donate financially to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 259 Vavenby and District Veterans Food Bank in Pat’s Honour.
