Obituary of Patricia Ann Wiebe
Patti passed away in her home surrounded by family, on August 17th, 2020. She was loved and cared for until the end, when she passed from this life to be with Jesus. Patti, in her 77th year, was the beloved wife of Ben and loving mother of Paul (Melanie), Carrie (Jonathon) and Stephen (Carla). She was the much-loved grandmother of Lorelei (David), Emma, Mary, Helen, Leo, Gabriel, Asher and Elijah, and dear friend of Samidha. Patti is predeceased by her parents, William Leo Mann (1998) and Lillie Faye “Pady” Mann (2009). She will be remembered fondly by her brother Steve (Carolyn), Tom (Stacy) and Jim. She will be missed by many other friends and extended family. Patti was born in Abilene, Texas and grew up in Crosbyton and Earth, Texas. While completing her degree at Abilene Christian University, she met Ben and then married him, the love of her life. With Ben, she lived in various places in Canada, and finally in Beamsville, Ontario. Patti worked for 27 years as an administrative assistant at the McMaster School of Business, a job and working community that she greatly enjoyed. Patti’s faith was at the centre of her life and she used her gifts to serve others, for the glory of God. Patti extended friendship and hospitality to others, with a genuine desire to include them in her life. For many years, Patti and Ben spent months in Pune, India in the work of UBS and enjoying friendships with people from around the world. Patti took great delight in her family, and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, sharing a meal, having good conversations and playing games. We’ll miss her deeply and know that although she is gone, her love remains with us. Thanks to all who participated in her care over the last months as she struggled with Leukemia – Your support has been greatly appreciated.
