Obituary of Murray Alvin Frank Edwards
EDWARDS, Murray Alvin Frank (June 17, 1939 – April 7, 2020) – Passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Ruth, step-son David, step-daughter Lynn (Sean), grandchildren David (Soyee), Justin (Ashley) and Ariel and great-grandson Jacob. Murray loved fast cars and work many years as a Supervisor at Maher Shoe Company to support his speeding tickets and later worked with The Toronto Star. He played softball when he was younger and graduated to golfing in his retirement. Murray played on the Ford Golf League and enjoyed golfing with his buddies. Travelling was big on his bucket list and he and Ruth enjoyed traveling to Europe, West Indies, United States and across Canada. After winning the battle with prostate cancer, he was known as «the man made of steel». Murray was predeceased by his first wife Rosemarie, his mother Laura, his father Frank, sisters Pearl and Ruth, brother Eric, brothers-in-law Jack, Gerald, Bruce, sister-in-law Eleanor and his fur baby and companion for many years, his dog “Duke”. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Razvi and the staff at the Georgetown Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, in Murray’s honor, would be appreciated.
