Obituary of Matilda Marie Richard (Ouellette)
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Matilda Marie Richard, which occurred after a brief illness on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Born on November 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Placid and Matilda Ouellette. Matilda, a devoted wife, was pre-deceased by her loving husband Ovila Richard in 1991.
Matilda was a woman of great faith, who was a spiritual leader and pillar in her church community of Saint Rose for many years. She was a wonderful mother who raised her five children with the gift of unconditional love and support and instilled in them a strong faith that has served them well.
Matilda is survived by her children, daughter, Lorie; sons, Donald (Lorraine), Robert (Paula), Michael (Natalie), David (Bonita); adored grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Eric, Nikki, Sam, Christina, Brent, Kaitlyn, Nathaniel, Rochelle, Marcus; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Lilly; five brothers, Leo (Margaret), Ronald (Margot), Robert (Ruth) and she was predeceased by brothers, Norman (Jeanette) and Ivan (Betty). She will also live in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters-in-law, and her many cherished friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lyndsay MacDonald and the staff of Bobby’s Hospice for the excellent care given to her during her illness.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Spirit Parish (St. Rose) on August 11, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
