Marie Carol Spinney
1959-2020
Marie Carol (Lawrence) Spinney, 60, of Sunken
Lake, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2020 at her residence. Born
in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Gordon Fisher and (Mary)
Frances (Lawrence) VanAmburg, and wife of the late Gordon Leo Spinney.
Marie was an indomitable spirit. When faced with the loss of her
beloved husband, she completed her schooling, with honours, to become
a Personal Care Worker; a career she loved as much as her role of Wife
and Mother. Marie is survived by her children, Larry Spinney of Sunken
Lake and Maryellen Spinney of New Minas; her pride and joy,
granddaughter, Cheyanne, New Minas; brothers, Robert (Paula) of Beaver
Bank, Ronald (Vera) of Windsor and Bruce (Tammy) of Windsor; sisters,
Lillian Whalen of Sydney Mines, Ruth Lawrence of Truro, Bernice
Lawrence of Bedford, sister-in-law Deb Lawrence and half sister
Josephine Best, as well as several sisters and brothers in law, nieces
and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Gordon, she was
predeceased by her brothers, Maynard and Harley, half-brothers, Ira,
Ernest, and Lester, half-sister Christina, and brother-in-law Carl
Morgan. Due to the current circumstances there will be no visitation
or funeral service. A private family graveside service will take place
in Black River Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be
made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS or the Canadian Cancer
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
