A strong, determined, independent mother of three, Peggy raised her family on her own, with a strong hand and a big heart, and while working full time at Glen Haven Manor in New Glasgow.
Peggy had many interests. She was an avid reader whose home was filled with books. Peggy’s fabulous home recipes and great meals will be dearly missed at the family gatherings, especially her blueberry pancakes, fishcakes, and tea biscuits. As a member of Toastmasters, Peggy was the Judge for the Westville and Pictou Air cadets.
Peggy loved the movies and was never afraid to let loose her full-hearted laughter. The ocean was a favorite place, whether it was swimming with family at Patricia’s, boating or sailing with her cousin David Hulford on his sailboat. Dancing, apple picking, and gardening were also favoured activities. Peggy also enjoyed travelling, and had the opportunity to visit Germany, Europe, Florida, Las Vegas, Australia, & Hawaii where the Banyan Tree in Maui held a special spot in Peggy’s heart. Most of all Peggy loved being with her family. Holidays and family dinners gave her great joy and will be remembered for the laughter, good times, and good food. Peggy’s happy heart and all enveloping hugs will be dearly missed along with the amazing smile which lit up her entire face.
The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Lee, Joan Timmons, Continuing Care, VON, Debbie Williams, Dr. Anna Kwasnik and the nurses of Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care for the loving care, support and compassion she received from each of them.
